Background

Hyatt Hotels have long been synonymous with prestige and the highest standards of service. Their internal operations are no exception, so it was not surprising that Hyatt contacted PeopleKey to discuss automated time & attendance solutions.

Challenge

Hyatt Hotels was in need of an automated solution that would eliminate payroll slippage without inconveniencing employees. The solution needed to integrate with Hyatt's existing attendance system. A customized support program was also required, with a quick response time.

Solution

PeopleKey provided Hyatt with V70i fingerprint readers, installed at various hotel locations, in order to capture the actual attendance times for all Hyatt staff. The readers were connected to a central server running Fingerlan IV software, which gathers the attendance data and exports it to Hyatt's Microster system. Microster matches the attendance records from Fingerlan against employee rosters in order to generate payroll data. In order to meet Hyatt's support requirements, PeopleKey designed an interface to allow for integration with Hyatt's systems and implemented an exclusive support program with a maximum response time of 4 hours.

Result

Hyatt has implemented PeopleKey's biometric time & attendance solution across a number of key hotels in Asia Pacific with favorable results. Managers now have access to accurate attendance records, staff have become more accountable, and work performance/efficiency has reportedly improved across the Hyatt Hotel Group.
