Background

Brambles are a leading global support services group based in Sydney, Australia. Brambles operates in nearly 50 countries and employs approximately 28,000 people. The nature of Brambles' business requires a level of security only available through the use of biometrics.

Challenge

Brambles was in need of a physical access control system for their Sydney headquarters that would operate on a 24/7 basis, provide tiered levels of access, and prevent unwanted access due to lost or stolen keys/cards.

Solution

PeopleKey provided Brambles with the ultimate in security by implementing a biometric access control system across their entire headquarters. Instead of cards or keys, access to Brambles facilities is now controlled by means of a PIN number and fingerprint. In order to implement the solution, PeopleKey installed a network of V70i fingerprint readers across the Brambles facilities. These readers are connected across a secure network to a server running Fingerlan software. Enrollments and security settings are managed from a central location. Access privileges are assigned according to an individual's job position, the doors he may enter, and the time/date that he is authorized to enter them. A record of all finger verifications/attempts is sent to Fingerlan (and stored on each respective reader) as an audit trail.

Result

The PeopleKey solution allows Brambles to secure its facilities through the use of biometric technology, preventing access due to lost or stolen keys or cards. Brambles lives and breathes security, and they trust our biometric access control system because it works, day in and day out.
